Candidates shift focus to more primaries following New Hampshire

»  Comments | Post a Comment

(AP) - Presidential contenders are turning their focus to the next primaries after voters in Iowa and New Hampshire produced four different winners between the two parties.

Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton is attributing her win in New Hampshire partly to her success late in the race in telling voters why she's in public life. The day before yesterday's primary, Clinton choked up when a voter asked her how she was faring.

John McCain, squarely back in the race after being essentially discounted seven months ago, says there is "nothing quite as invigorating as a win."

Meanwhile, Democrat Barack Obama -- who polls showed as the leader heading into the New Hampshire primary -- says he thinks voters are "not going to let any candidate take anything for granted."

Clinton, McCain and Obama commented in a round of talk show appearances on ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox.
