(AP) - John McCain says he is very optimistic about his chances in Michigan now that he has some momentum after winning yesterday in New Hampshire.
McCain is campaigning today in Michigan, a state he won in 2000. He tells CBS' "Early Show" that he has a good, strong political base in the state.
But so does Iowa and New Hampshire runner-up Mitt Romney, who was born in Michigan and whose father was the state's governor.
Romney is also campaigning today in Michigan and both are running TV ads there.
Iowa winner Mike Huckabee is also in contention in Michigan. But today he flew to South Carolina, where he has a lead in the polls.
