Oregon cowboy ends cross-country ride

»  Comments | Post a Comment

(AP) - A man looking for positive events in America has completed a seven-month horseback ride from Oregon to North Carolina.

Bill Inman said yesterday it may take him a few days to realize it's over.

Inman started in Lebanon, Oregon on June 2nd and arrived in Hendersonville yesterday.

He says the cross-country trip was encouraging from start to finish.

Inman rode his 16-year-old thoroughbred-quarter horse named Blackie eleven miles from Mills River into Hendersonville yesterday. He was accompanied by 20 riders, a few from the Hendersonville Mounted Police. A crowd of more than 100 people greeted Inman.

Inman was joined on his journey by his wife, Brenda, and a four-person support crew. He says he had been distressed over how the country was portrayed in news coverage.
