Search For Lauterbach's Accused Killer

The Onslow County Sheriff's Office tells us law enforcement agencies across the country are working to track down Cesar Laurean.

Sheriff Ed Brown says multiple witnesses in Shreveport, Lousisiana claim they saw Laurean at a bus station.

As of now we do not know for sure whether Laurean was getting onto the bus of off.

Onslow County investigators say they've received numerous tips they believe are credible and support the direction Laurean is headed.

Investigators say they are close on his trail and could find him within a few hours.

"I feel like that the law enforcement agencies in this country are on his trail. I do feel comfortable that his vacation will be short. His travel may be long, but I hope we'll be there too help him return," said Brown.

Sheriff Brown says he does not believe Laurean has changed his appearance as of yet but that doesn't mean he won't change it.

The sheriff says Laurean's truck has been spotted in a city other than Shreveport but no further details on that.

Brown considers Laurean still dangerous.

Up until now Camp Lejeune hasn't said anythying about this case.

But last night they broke that silence and issued this statement: “The command is currently collecting information and conducting a review to determine what information was available and when that information was available in relation to Lance Corporal Lauterbach. Additionally, we are collecting information and reviewing actions taken as a result of information becoming available."

The statement goes on to say that base officials won't release any findings of this review until it is finished.

While Sheriff Brown believes the remains found over the past few days are that of Maria Lauterbach and her unborn child we are still waiting on confirmation from the medical examiner which should happen today.

A news conference is scheduled later this morning at 10 AM.
