Jacksonville, N.C. - Onslow County Sheriff Ed Brown located a shoe in Cesar Laurean’s backyard Monday afternoon that is now being processed as evidence in the murder of Lauterbach.
Captain Rick Sutherland tells Nine On Your Side investigators previously performed a luminol test on the shoe but decided yesterday to send it off for processing.
Sutherland also says the FBI has received two more credible tips about where Cesar Laurean may be. Sutherland says the tips came from two different locations and the FBI mobilized agents on the ground to investigate both.
Sutherland would not elaborate on where the tips came from or if they were within the United States or Mexico.
Nine On Your Side continues to follow this developing story. Stay with Eyewitness News 9 and WNCT.com for updates.
