Camp Lejeune Marine from Georgia killed in Iraq's Anbar province

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (AP) - A Marine from Georgia who was based at Camp Lejeune has died while fighting in Iraq.


The Marines said Wednesday that Lance Corporal James M. Gluff died January 19 in Anbar Province. The 20-year-old was originally from Tunnel Hill, Georgia.


Gluff joined the Marines in June 2005 and was trained as an infantry rifleman. He joined the 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune in November 2005.


Gluff's decorations include the Humanitarian Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
