On January 23, 2008, at 3 a.m., a New Bern police officer witnessed a car, carrying two males, run a traffic light at Broad and First Streets.
The officer followed the car and conducted a traffic stop on Raynor Drive for the red light violation. The driver, Brandon Michael MARTIN, 10/04/1984, of 113 Fairmount Way, was issued a citation for the traffic violation.
During the routine stop, additional officers and a police K-9 conducted a search of the vehicle and located drugs. The passenger in the car, Micqual Tyree BOYD, 04/27/1989, of 1905 Pearson Street, was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana and Littering.
BOYD was placed in the Craven County Jail under an $8,000 bond, and was scheduled to appear in court January 23, 2008 at 9 a.m.
