ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - Barack Obama says his Democratic presidential rival Hillary Clinton is engaging in double-talk on bankruptcy laws, trade and other issues.
Obama says the perception that politicians "don't always say what they mean, or mean what they say," is what "the debate in this party is all about."
Obama, who's hoping to take Saturday's South Carolina Democratic primary, continues to pound Clinton for saying that while she voted for a bill to make it harder to declare bankruptcy she's glad it didn't pass.
And the Illinois Senator noted that his rival from New York originally praised the North American Free Trade Agreement- which was enacted during her husband's presidency, but now criticizes aspects of it.
Clinton's campaign has struck back at Obama for what it says was a shift in positions. It provided TV outlets with video of Obama saying recently that he opposes a single-payer health care system, and a 2003 clip in which he appeared to endorse such a plan.
