NEW: Kucinich drops second Democratic presidential bid

»  Comments | Post a Comment

CLEVELAND (AP) - Democrat Dennis Kucinich is dropping out of the presidential race.

He tells Cleveland's Plain Dealer that he plans to hold a news conference tomorrow and will discuss his decision to drop his second bid for the White House and announce "a new direction."

Kucinich says he wants to continue serving in Congress, but he faces a tough race for re-election. The former mayor of Cleveland made an urgent appeal on his Web site earlier this week for funding for his congressional campaign.

Kucinich says he will not endorse another Democrat in the primary.
