Onslow County Schools Consider New Career Tech Center
Preparing students for the workforce or for higher education is every school district's goal. Onslow County is finding a new hands on approach that will propel students into the work environment.

They’re hoping to build a new Career Launch Technology Center. The center would allow students to graduate with a diploma but also a specialized license in their field of interest.
Lesley Eason from Onslow County Schools says, "We have good construction programs at many of our high schools but this specialized program would take an integrated approach where for example we may end up building a modular home on the campus of the center."

Students could end up with license for 3-D modeling, civil engineering, or multimedia animators, plus many more. The program would gear around students who want to go straight into the workforce or for those looking into higher education.
