We are all concerned when it comes to weather. And this week in our Viewer’s Voice inbox and on the phone, we got a lot of people who wanted to talk about the weather.
Some wanted to thanks us for being on the air. Others said we messed up big time.
One of those viewers took exception to our story about the drought lessening last week.
They didn't identify themselves, but they said we should report the news truthfully.
The viewer wrote," I am concerned at your reporting that the drought had ended in North Carolina. This is irresponsible, because it misleads the viewers into thinking that water conservation is no longer necessary."
Well, viewer, you are right. We made a mistake and while we work very hard to avoid that it sometimes happens. But we corrected the error almost immediately and broadcast the correction over several newscasts.
And on that squall line of bad weather that destroyed a home in Bertie County, one person got upset that we were doing cut-ins during primetime.
But we got a lot of notes like this one from Leola Cox, "Just wanted to thank you for all the weather alerts on my cell phone and at the bottom of my TV screen. I appreciate all Storm Team 9 does to keep us safe.”
And the Peels wrote, “I spend a lot of time tracking weather online but last night when our internet service went out, I was glad to see you guys and Live VIPIR 9 were live."
Thanks to all who wrote and called for this week’s Viewer’s Voice.
