Craven County deputies are investigating a murder of their own this afternoon.
It happened on 8007 Main Street in Vanceboro.
Police say the victim who’s name has not been released was found outside of the home in bushes buried under pine straw.
Vanceboro Police do have a suspect in mind.
He is 39 year old Cesar Acosta and he is on the run.
Police say they believe he fled in a white GMC Crew Cab truck with NC tags, WTL3082.
Acosta has a prior conviction for second degree murder from back in 1991 and was recently released in 2006.
What we do know is the victim was hit in the head with some sort of blunt object and that the victim is not from Vanceboro.
We have a crew on the way and will have more details as they become available.
