Hospital's visitation rules thwart good intentions of man with horse

»  Comments | Post a Comment

LIHUE, Hawaii (AP) - Cats and dogs are allowed to visit patients at one Hawaii hospital, but horses? Not so much.

One man learned the hard way when he tried to cheer up an ailing relative by bringing the relative's stallion to visit.

A hospital spokeswoman says the man and the horse went into the hospital earlier this month and managed to take an elevator up to the third floor before they were stopped by security.

Security was able to get the man and the horse out of the hospital -- "with just a few scuff marks," according to the spokeswoman.

The patient was brought outside to see the animal, but that didn't make things any better.

The patient told hospital staff, "That's not my horse."
