A memorial service will be held tonight for a Duke University graduate student who was shot and killed in his apartment earlier this year.
Abhijit Mahato will be remembered at the 6 p.m. observance in front of his apartment complex.
The Tatangar, India, native was studying for a doctorate in computational mechanics at Duke.
He died January 18th.
The vigil is being coordinated by the Religious Coalition for a Nonviolent Durham, Parents of Murdered Children and Durham Congregations in Action.
A grand jury has indicted two teenagers is Mahato's death: 17-year-old Laurence Lovette and 19-year-old Stephen Oates, both of Durham.
Lovette also is charged in the murder of the student body president at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
