FRANKLIN, N.H. (AP) - An investigation continues into the cause of an Easter morning fire that killed a New Hampshire mother and her two young daughters.
Fire officials in Franklin identify the victims as Beth MacDonald and her daughters, 11-year-old Molly and 9-year-old Jenny. They say the girls had spent the night in a 2 1/2-story carriage house, just outside the family's home, after decorating it for Easter.
Authorities say the girls' parents woke at about 5 a.m. to the smell of smoke, and that the mother rushed into the building to try and save the children while her husband called 911.
