NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Gibson Guitar is going back on the offensive against the video game industry. It has filed a second patent infringement lawsuit. This one is against the video game "Rock Band." It claims Harmonix, MTV Networks and Electronic Arts are violating a virtual-reality patent the guitar maker holds. It's the same 1999 patent that's at the heart of a separate lawsuit Gibson filed last week against those who sell the ActiVision game "Guitar Hero." Before Gibson filed either lawsuit, Activision sued Gibson in Los Angeles, seeking a federal court declaration that it isn't violating Gibson's patent, which features a device that can let players mimic playing a guitar as part of a band.
