On 03-28-2008, Craven county Deputies responded to a call reference to a sexual assault. As a result of the investigation by the Sheriff's Office, Curtis Freeman Carawan, Sr, was charged with First Degree Sexual Offense on a child. Lead Investigator Kenny Wade arrested Carawan without incident and he is being held in the Craven County Jail under a $200,000 bond. Carawan is 35 years old and lives at 6309 River Road, Vanceboro, NC. Due to the fact that this investigation continues no other details are available at this time.
