A combined effort by Sheriff C. A. Winders, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Investigative Division and Federally Certified Experts in Trademark and Counterfeiting Detection has resulted in the issuance of Felony Arrest Warrants on two separate Wayne County Businessmen.
On March 20, 2008, Detectives seized in excess of $80,000.00 worth of counterfeit brand named sports shoes, designer jeans, sweat suits, shirts, music recordings, DVDs and game system software when they investigated the two stores. According to state law it is a crime to possess and sell audio or visual recordings and clothing of any type that do not contain the true name and address of the manufacturer of goods having a counterfeit mark or to Possess such materials with the intent to sell the item to the public.
Wayne County Sheriff’s Detective Lieutenant Carl Lancaster is certified by the Department of the Secretary of State in the Detection of Counterfeit Merchandise and aided in the recovery of the merchandise. Det/Sgt Ronald Baker is the lead investigator in the investigation.
Arrest warrants have been issued on Ziad Assed Ismail, the owner of the Hip Hop Spot located at 906A North Spence Avenue Goldsboro, North Carolina for one Felony count of Criminal Use of Counterfeit trademarks. Corey Feliciane Lewis, the owner of The Urban Collection located at 906 East Elm Street, Goldsboro, NC is being sought for one Felony count of Counterfeit Video/Dvd and one felony count of Recording and Distribution of Recorded Sounds.

Sheriff Winders is requesting that when the case is disposed of in court that all of the merchandise be donated to Charity.
