Local truckers pull off the roads today to protest rising gas prices

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Almost two dozen truckers -- mainly loggers -- pulled their rigs off the road for two hours today along Highway 17 in Vanceboro.

They are protesting the escalating price of diesel fuel, which now tops $4 a gallon.

They say it’s getting harder to put food on their tables because the rates they paid are staying the same, while gas prices keep increasing.
