We all know the economy can sometimes be complicated. It's not always easy to understand how it works, or even what it's doing right now. But there's one group of people who knows very well how today's slumping economy affects them, and they still look forward to the future.
From Washington to Wall Street, the top priority is the economy. And children hundreds of miles away know it. Crystal Dixon's 3rd grade class may not know the ins and outs of the bailout package, but they know how the economy has changed their lives.
Dixon says, "When we ask things that you want to do, if you could go anywhere where would you want to go? Most of us dream big - Disney World, Busch Gardens, but some of them are saying the beach, Greenville.”
Crystal says she teaches her class the reason behind their sacrifices, but says she's the one who ends up learning: "They're very optimistic."
Reporter: "If you could do anything to change the economy, what would you do?" Elijah Brooks says, "Make the toys $00.25."
Because what grown ups think may be impossible…
Lauren Holowiti says, "I would make the jobs pay more so that everything can be settled and everybody can have enough of what they need."
…Doesn't seem all that impossible to them.
