Nathaniel Village Groundbreaking Ceremony

Monday, November 24, at 4:00 p.m. at the development site between Bonners Lane and West Fifth Street. The City of Greenville along with Landmark Group will break ground for the development of Nathaniel Village, an affordable, multi-family unit. For more information, contact Carl Rees at 329-4502.

Planning Session for 2009 North Carolina League of Municipalities Conference

Tuesday, November 25, at 12:00 p.m. in the Convention Center, 303 SW Greenville Boulevard. The City of Greenville will kick off their planning sessions for the 2009 NCLM Conference. For more information, contact the City Manager’s Office at 329-4432.

Thanksgiving Closings

-City administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The following is a list of closings for the Recreation & Parks Department:

-Administrative Offices at Jaycee Park will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28. The Center for Arts & Crafts will be closed on Thursday, November 27, through Sunday, November 30. There will be no programs or classes.

-The Aquatics & Fitness Center will be closed on Thursday, November 27. They will re-open at on Friday, November 28, 12:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. The Center will be open during regular hours on Saturday, November 29, and on Sunday, November 30..

-H. Boyd Lee Park & Gym will be closed Thursday, November 27, through Sunday, November 30.

-Bradford Creek will be open on Thursday, November 27, from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

-Elm Street Gym will be closed Thursday, November 27, through Sunday, November 30.

-Eppes Recreation Center & Gym will be closed Thursday, November 27, through Sunday November 30.

-Extreme Park will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28.

-River Park North will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28.

-River Birch Tennis Center will be closed Thursday, November 27, through Sunday, November 30. Courts are open daily.

-South Greenville Gym & Recreation Center will be closed Thursday, November 27, through Sunday, November 30.

-The Sports Connection will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28.

-The Teen Center will be closed Thursday, November 27, through Sunday, November 30.

Thanksgiving Sanitation Schedule

-Monday, November 24- Regular Schedule Garbage & Bulky Trash Routes

-Tuesday, November 25- Regular Schedule Garbage & Bulky Trash Routes

-Wednesday, November 26- Thursday & Friday’s Garbage & Bulky Trash Routes

-Thursday, November 27- No Collection

-Friday, November 28- No Collection

NO RECYCLING COLLECTION THIS WEEK

If you are on a Thursday or Friday Bulky Trash Route, please place your items out for pickup prior to Monday to assure collection before the holiday. If you are on a Thursday or Friday Garbage Route and have curbside (roll-out cart) collection, please place your cart at the curbside prior to 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Board and Commission Meetings

-City Council will meet on Monday, November 24, at 5:00 p.m. on the Third Floor of City Hall, 200 West Fifth Street.

-Greenville Housing Authority has cancelled their Monday, November 24, meeting.

-Youth Council has cancelled their Monday, November 24, meeting.

-Historic Preservation Commission will meet on Tuesday, November 25, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 200 West Fifth Street.
