INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Barack Obama says while it's "a moment of great uncertainty for America," it isn't a "time for fear or panic."
At a campaign rally in Indianapolis, Obama acknowledged the public anxiety over the financial crisis and the economic strain people are facing, noting "it's harder to make the mortgage or fill up your gas tank."
But he said, "there are better days ahead." Obama called it "a time for resolve and leadership" and said he was confident "we can steer ourselves out of this crisis."
Obama again ridiculed John McCain for saying recently that the fundamentals of the economy are strong. But Obama himself told the crowd that America has "the most talented, most productive workers" on Earth, and remains "home to innovation and technology, colleges and universities that are the envy of the world."
