Morrisville, NC (September 5, 2008) – Time Warner Cable’s Carolina Region is making extensive preparations as Tropical Storm Hanna approaches the East Coast.

Morrisville, NC (September 5, 2008) – Time Warner Cable’s Carolina Region is making extensive preparations as Tropical Storm Hanna approaches the East Coast. TWC associates have fueled all generators and trucks and are pro-actively putting materials in place required for service restoration. If customers experience a service outage, be assured TWC will be working around the clock to restore service as soon as conditions are safe for our technicians.
More than 1,500 field technicians throughout North and South Carolina are on standby to help with restoration throughout the region. We also have the support of Time Warner Cable operations throughout the United States, if necessary.
TWC has an extensive disaster assessment process in place that enables us to determine where outages exist. Customers do not need to call to report service outages. However, if a customer calls in and it’s determined they are part of a large outage, they can request a call back through our automated system when the outage is cleared. When the call back is made to the customer, if they are still having problems they will be connected to a Customer Care Representative.
Here are some self-service tips to help restore your service after power comes back on:
Cable: The set top box may need to be rebooted. To do this, simply unplug from the power source and let it reboot and reconnect to our system.
Digital Phone: If the dial tone doesn’t return immediately following the restoration of power, reboot the modem.
Road Runner: Disconnect the power supply and reconnect.
If customers don’t have cable within an hour after power is restored, they can contact Time Warner Cable at 1-866-4TWC-NOW. Customers can also contact TWC at our website. The websites are as follows:

Time Warner Cable’s virtual call center allows us to answer calls from customers during and after the storm. This is possible because of the ability for any customer care representative to take calls no matter where they are located.
