The third annual Greater Greenville Area Green Building Tour will take place Saturday, October 4 from 10AM to 3PM in conjunction with the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association’s 2008 Statewide Green Building & Solar Tour. The statewide and local tours are part of the American Solar Energy Society’s national tour, which involves 22 states. Because of its increasing popularity, the statewide tour will take place over a period two weekends to accommodate the variety of interests and geographic locales—Saturday October 4 and Saturday October 11.
This year’s local tour is the result of a partnership between ECU, ECVC, PCC, GUC, Carolina Greenworks, the Smith Group and Keller Williams. The tour will feature a 4200 square foot green residential home that is located in the Corey Ridge subdivision off of Firetower Road – 4905 James Henry Court. There will be various displays throughout the house dealing with recycling, energy efficiency, water efficiency, sustainability, innovative redesign, and the GEM (electric) car.
