GREENVILLE— The Regional Rehabilitation Center at Pitt County Memorial Hospital will hold the first ever “Run, Walk and Roll for Rehab” race on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. The 5K and one-mile event will take place on a course in the Lynndale neighborhood in Greenville. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. at Omega Sports in the Lynncroft shopping center located at the intersection of Greenville Boulevard and Evans Street.
The race course is certified by East Carolina Road Racing and is suitable for wheelchairs, race chairs, and baby strollers.
“We are thrilled to be sponsoring our first ever 5k and one mile run,” said Martha Dixon, vice president for rehabilitation and behavioral services. “This is a great opportunity to bring together former patients, families and staff to have fun and support a great cause.”
Net proceeds from the race will benefit programs and services at the Regional Rehabilitation Center at PCMH.
Since 1977, the rehabilitation center has offered a wide range of integrated inpatient and outpatient programs. Through both a 75-bed inpatient rehabilitation center, and four different outpatient locations, specialized care is provided for adults and children with stroke, spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, orthopedic injuries, and neuromuscular disorders.
