The opening ceremonies for the Pitt County Fair take place this evening.

The N.C. Department of Labor officials will be on hand to announce the progress and status of the ride inspection process.

North Carolina is one of only two states in the nation that require rides to be 100 percent to the manufacturer's specifications before the ride is approved.
