An Onslow County grand jury indicted former Belhaven Police Chief and his ex-wife on murder charges today

Last September George Hayden and Vickie Babbitt were arrested for the 1972 murder of Marine William Miller.
It was a twisted love triangle between a marine, his wife and another marine.
Investigators charged Hayden and Babbitt with first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the death of Babbit’s then husband, Miller.
Both are out of jail on bond.

Roger Gill is in the Onslow County jail also charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the death of Miller.

Assistant District Attorney Ernie Lee says the week of April 20th the two will be arraigned during an administrative session of court.
