Everyone wants to save a few extra bucks on their prescription drugs.
On Monday, the Greenville City Council approved a resolution that will save some people money with a National League of Cities discount prescription drug card.
The cards allows people who don't have insurance, to receive 20% off some drugs.
For those who do, it will cover 20% of the drugs not covered.
The cards can be used at 37 local pharmacies and 59,000 pharmacies nationwide.
City Manager Wayne Bowers said, “it certainly is a positive impact...a lot of our citizens do need very expensive drugs and so any kind of discount program that can be provided we're certainly pleased to be able to offer this opportunity.”
Bowers tells Nine On Your Side there's no membership fee or cost to the city for the plan.
