North Carolina lawmakers want to give parents more choices when it comes to sex education.

Tuesday the House Health Committee approved a bill that lets parents choose what their child is taught about sex.

They can pick the current curriculum of abstinence until marriage, a safe sex curriculum, or they can opt out of both curriculums and choose no sex education at all for their child.

The measure next heads to a vote by the full state House.
