Belinda McDonald pled guilty to the charges of trafficking in opium, selling a controlled substance and involuntary manslaughter. NCIS investigators say Marine Jason Beaird died from a drug overdose of fentanyl in December of 2006. NCIS received information that led them to open an investigation against McDonald. Through several undercover operations NCIS agents recorded McDonald selling prescription drugs. They later arrested McDonald. In a plea agreement with the state, a judge ordered McDonald to serve a minimum of seven years and maximum of eight years. The judge also requires drug abuse treatment be available to McDonald.
