Crime in the east is getting a going away party.
From Onslow county to Pitt county, law enforcement agencies are gathering to celebrate a “National Night Out*.
This year's theme is entitled “Giving Crime a Going Away Party”. It's a theme law enforcement tells me they hope will hit home.
The hope that by allowing the public to interact and build relationships with authorities, it will lead to reporting crime when it happens.
Folks at the Town Commons in downtown Greenville will be enjoying the entertainment from 6 to 8:30 PM.
It includes a dunking booth and jungle gym for the kids.
Also if you're worried about traffic, have no fear. The Great Transit Bus system is running for free throughout the entire day.
So there's no excuse to not come out.
