It's going to be a busy semester for everyone at Pitt Community College.
School officials say 8,000 students have asked for financial aid for this semester; a record number.
In addition, enrollment jumped by 50% this year.
"We're getting more traditional aged college students,” said PCC Vice-president of Academic Affairs Pamela Hilbert. “But obviously we still have almost half our population are adults who have been out of school a while and they're coming back to retrain, or because they haven't been to college...they want that edge."
The school says they expects late enrollment to increase by an additional 5% by next week.
