RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina's laid-off tech workers are drawing the interest of corporate talent hunters.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Thursday that investment banking giant Credit Suisse plans to hire about 300 more workers next year for its information technology business in Research Triangle Park.
The newspaper has also reported that the maker of the BlackBerry mobile phone is considering a move into the area. Officials from Research In Motion Ltd. told jobseekers last week the company is investigating opening a Research Triangle facility.
Last month, mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson said it was shutting down its operations nearby, putting 425 people out of work.
