The governor wants everyone to remember veterans and their families this holiday season.
Governor Bev Perdue says you can honor veterans by sending cards, wish-list gifts, and donations to state veterans nursing homes.
Two of those homes are located in Fayetteville and Salisbury.
Meanwhile, the governor recently announced federal funding was approved for two new state veterans homes in Kinston and Buncombe County.
