ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin says she has cut short her Hawaii vacation because of paparazzi, who photographed her wearing a sun visor with the name of John McCain blacked out.
Palin says she meant no disrespect to McCain. She says she tried to blacken her former running mate's name out with a marker to "go incognito" so her family and others wouldn't be bothered. Pictures of the redacted visor were published widely on the Internet.
Palin returned home to Alaska on Thursday evening, and told her Twitter followers she had to "cut sunny vacation short (thanks, desperate paparazzi)."
Palin just wrapped up her national book tour for "Going Rogue" with book signing events Sunday in Anchorage and Fairbanks.
