Police stumbled onto a warehouse full of pot plants.

Police say they didn't know the operation was there, even though it's just blocks from the police department, at the corner of Seventh and Jackson streets.

Don Knapp shows us how officers uncovered the stash.

In a major, carefully organized raid, Oakland Police and FDA agents rounded up 51 people suspected of selling narcotics in Oakland... And are looking for 50 more.

The police effort took eight months.

But it took just a matter of minutes for the Oakland Fire Department to make half million dollar drug bust... Just a few blocks down the street from the police department...

In an old Chinatown fortune cookie bakery that featured custom fortunes and flavors.

A fire in an upper floor of the bakery brought fire fighters...

Who put out the flames, looked inside, and called police.

The pot factory operators... Still at large.. Tapped a P.G. and E. undersidewalk transformer for power to run grow lights, pumps, and vents.

Apparently a short in the illegal cable caused a fire.

Neighbor Daniel Chan says the cookie factory closed a year ago.

He watched construction work in the old bakery, but didn't know what it was for.. And said he never saw the people who ran the place.

But it seems the area is apparently a good place to grow pot.
