North Carolina’s Department of Transportation will install a fence along a stretch of highway where a Good Samaritan fell to his death in November.
The fence will go on Interstate 440 in Raleigh.
Lee Eames, Jr. died when he jumped over a barrier to help people involved in a car accident on the other side of the highway.
The problem is there's a gap between the two directions and Eames fell 30 feet.
"I haven't seen the dot report yet. They have a much bigger system of roads and it may be different situations in rural areas -- but here in the city this type of configuration is dangerous and something needs to be done at all the locations, not just the one where the fatalities occurred," said Raleigh Mayor Charles Meeker.
Mayor Meeker says the city will pay for it if D.O.T. won't.
