It's a step in the right direction for new facilities for ECU's non-revenue sports.

Today, the university's Board of Trustees unveiled a new plan that would expand and create new facilities behind Clark-Leclair Stadium.

Plans for a new softball field, tennis courts, track and soccer complexes are included.

There would also be a multi-purpose building for locker rooms, training and offices.

Officials plan to start construction on the first project, a new softball field, this spring.
