WASHINGTON (AP) - President-elect Barack Obama shouldn't expect Congress to have an economic recovery plan waiting for him when he takes office on Jan. 20.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer says it would be tough to get a massive spending plan together that soon. Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Hoyer says it's more likely that the House will finish its part by the end of January. He hopes that something will be available for Obama to sign by mid-February.

On NBC's "Meet the Press," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says lawmakers will work as quickly as they can and try their best to pass it before February. But he says he won't set an artificial deadline, adding that Congress wants to get the stimulus plan right "the first time."

Obama meets with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on the stimulus package tomorrow.
