CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (AP) - A Camp Lejeune spouse has been voted the Marine Corps 2009 Spouse of the Year.

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (AP) - A Camp Lejeune spouse has been voted the Marine Corps 2009 Spouse of the Year.
Tanya Queiro is a former Marine who works in the base's human relations office as a labor and employee relations specialist. She was nominated by her husband, Gunnery Sgt. Jose Queiro, and selected through an online vote held during the last three months.
Queiro is one of five women selected to represent the five branches of the armed forces. She was honored last Friday during an NBA game in San Antonio.
The overall 2009 Military Spouse of the Year will be announced and honored in the June issue of Military Spouse magazine and at the second annual MSOY Awards scheduled during the week of May 4 in Washington in conjunction with National Military Spouse Appreciation Week.
