SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - News reports say the United States is pushing hard to slap strong financial sanctions on North Korea in response to its latest nuclear test.
The sanctions could be part of U.N. punishments, or the U.S. might act on its own.
A delegation led by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg has been on a trip to Japan, South Korea and China to discuss a joint response to North Korea's May 25 nuclear test.
