So far so good a month into hurricane season, but that doesn't mean people are relaxing.
In fact, a group of ham radio operators used this weekend to get ready.
Radio operators from across North America practiced using their equipment during Field Day.
Camps sprang up everywhere.
That included Greenville's Brightleaf Club near Bells Fork.
No permanent electric setup is allowed, so they use generators instead.
Ham operators are licensed; however, guests were allowed to try to make contacts.
Greenville Mayor Pat Dunn hit the air several times.
Field Day takes place the last weekend of June each year.
