Victims Identified in Early Morning Shooting in Downtown Greenville

It happened near the bar, "The Other Place", on 5th Street around 2 am.

Police are releasing the names of the victims of this morning's deadly shooting in front of a club in downtown Greenville. Greenville Police say they are 28-year-old Charles Andrew Kirby and 22-year-old Edgar Landon Blackley. Kirby worked at Michaelangelo's restaurant just down the street. Blackley was a student at East Carolina University.

Police are also releasing the name of a suspect in the shooting. They are looking for 32-year-old James Richardson. They think he was in the car that drove by and opened fire into the crowd at "The Other Place" around 2am this morning.

Two people are dead, including an ECU student, after an early morning shooting in downtown Greenville. It happened near the bar, "The Other Place", on 5th Street around 2 am. Police are still looking for the suspects this afternoon. They can't say what the argument that led to the shootings was about but say the two victims had nothing to do with the disagreement. Police say shortly after an argument between two groups ended, a car drove by and opened fire at a crowd standing outside the bar. ECU has information posted on their web site describing the suspects involved. They say they are both black males. The first is described as having light skin, tall and wearing a white t-shirt. The second is a tall male with a white v-neck t-shirt and red hat. They say the two were in a white, late 80's model BMW. An early morning shooting in downtown Greenville has claimed the lives of 2 people.
According to the Greenville Police Department, the shooting happened in front of The Other Place just after 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Greenville Police tell Nine On Your Side there was an argument between two groups of people and shortly after, a car drove by shooting at a crowd standing in front of the bar.
Officials confirmed 2 people have died following the shooting. Early investigations show the victims were innocent bystanders.
According to the ECU Safety Update website, one of the victims is a student and the other a non-student. Both were transported to PCMH for treatment.
The suspects are described as two black males. The first suspect is described as having light skin, being tall, and wearing a white t-shirt. The other suspect is described as being tall, wearing a white v-neck shirt and wearing a red hat. The suspect vehicle is described as a white, late 1980 model BMW.
