There will be a change at the top of the conservative group Focus on the Family.
James Dobson announced he's resigning as chairman of the organization that he started in 1977.
The resignation doesn't come as a surprise, though.
Dobson has been giving up control of the group slowly over the last six years.
"I’ve taken the next step to resign from the board of directors as chairman. This is a very important step for us. It was done because it's time to do it. This is a very hard decision for me to make. We've been thinking and praying about it for months and we've done it very deliberately,” Dobson said.
While Dobson steps down as chairman, he'll keep hosting the group's radio program and will still speak out on moral issues.
