A Principal in the east resigns from his position in the middle of the school year.
Administrators at Bethel Christian Academy tell Nine On Your Side Michael Fulcher resigned earlier this month over "a personal matter."
However - Nine On Your Side has obtained a copy of a letter administrator Richard Barnard sent to parents of Bethel Christian Academy students.
That letter states Fulcher resigned "confessing he had been using his cell phone to send inappropriate text messages."
When asked about this matter - Barnard declined to comment saying that he would "let Fulcher comment on that."
Barnard would not say if the texts were sent to a student at the school.
However Kinston Police tell Nine On Your Side they are now have launched a criminal investigation into what they call "inappropiate" messages.
Barnard will be assuming Principal duties for the rest of the year.
