Gas Prices Go Up, But Stay Lower Than They Were One Year Ago

Gas is $1.44 cheaper than it was a year ago.
That’s why analysts think more people will hit the road for their vacations this year.
Gas prices are nowhere near the $4 mark that stunned everyone last year; but, they have gone up nationwide.
The average price in the country for a gallon of unleaded is $2.40, up 35 cents from a month ago.
In North Carolina, the average is $2.36 a gallon, up 36 cents from last month.
A price search found the cheapest gas in Jacksonville for $2.30 a gallon.
In Greenville it’s $2.39 in New Bern is $2.43.
