An engineer who helped build Interstate 40 says last week's rockslide isn't the first one there.
The engineer said that construction workers in 1968 could barely finish sections before rocks started to fall.
A report on the dedication of that portion of Interstate 40 quotes engineers saying rockslides would be a problem there for years.
Last week's rock slide near the Tennessee border will probably keep that section of the interstate closed for four months.
Governor Bev Perdue made an emergency declaration to try to speed up repairs.
