MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Two South Carolina aviation companies say they are entering into a joint venture that will mean 50 new jobs for the Myrtle Beach area.
Multiple media outlets report that AvCraft Support Services and Industrial Aeronautica announced Tuesday that federal regulators have given them approval to perform heavy maintenance on two kinds of twin-turboprop short-haul regional airliners.
AvCraft general manager Mike Hill says his company could also soon benefit from other recent developments in South Carolina's aviation industry.
Boeing said last week it would bring a second assembly for its new 787 to North Charleston. Hill says AvCraft could potentially assemble some components of those new airplanes.
