Other parts of the state weren't immune to the heavy rains.

People who live near Crabtree Creek in Raleigh are still on high alert tonight after several inches fell in the state's capital.

Sewer systems are struggling to keep up. In some places, manholes are overflowing.

And high winds and heavy rain left thousands of people in the dark in Charlotte today.

Uprooted trees closed major roads and knocked out power.

Trees fell on homes and churches, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

The good news tonight is the city has all the power back on.
