BERN, Switzerland (AP) - Switzerland's privacy watchdog is taking legal action to force Google to make changes to its Street View service.
The Federal Data Protection Commissioner, Hanspeter Thuer, says the search engine company rejected most of his proposals to ensure personal privacy is protected.
Thuer says he will now file a complaint with Switzerland's Federal Administrative Court.
Google said Friday it was disappointed by the move. Global privacy counsel Peter Fleischer says Google Inc. believes Street View is legal and will "vigorously contest" the case.
Street View lets people view street-level pictures over the Web and has been criticized in several European countries for allowing individuals to be identified without their knowledge or consent.
